More about Stacey Woodworth-Shaw

With over 25 years of working in legal accounts at the same practice Stacey was excited to expand her knowledge and broaden her experiences by joining the Finance Team as a Senior Finance Supervisor at Express Solicitors.

Her legal career began as a post room assistant in a small Stockport based firm. Shortly afterwards the position of accounts junior became available marking the beginning of Stacey’s long journey within the legal industry. As her knowledge of the Solicitors Accounts Rules increased, she progressed through the ranks. Advancing to the role of legal cashier her skills developed leading to her earning the title of senior cashier and then eventually being promoted to the role Accounts Manager, leading a team of six. Stacey is an active Diploma member of The Institute of Legal Finance and Management which assists her in keeping up to date with any changes that may occur in the legal accounting world.

As a supervisor, Stacey likes to provide her team members with all the support and encouragement that they require in order for them to perform to the best of their abilities and to progress. She believes that it is important to learn all roles within the team so that she can assist when needed, and to share valuable knowledge to others in the future. During busy periods or in a crisis, Stacey loves nothing more than rolling up her sleeves and getting stuck in.

During her career Stacey has been involved in mergers, acquisitions and recently played a vital role in the firm splitting in to two separate practices. Both of which she continued, simultaneously to oversee and manage the Accounts teams for.

Stacey is an avid runner and has taken part in numerous running events in past years, ranging from 5-kilometre Parkruns all the way up to full marathon distance. In addition to running Stacey loves a physical challenge. She has successfully completed both the National and Yorkshire Three Peaks challenges within the specified time limits and has taken part in a 24-hour relay race with friends. Her latest running goal is to exceed her longest running distance by taking part in a 50k ultra across the Lake District. When she is not out running or working Stacey also enjoys reading and taking in the scenery during family walks. The Peak District is a particular favourite for her to visit at the weekends with her husband and their daughter.
