Hywel Thomas is a Senior Associate in the Personal Injury Department specialising in Employers Liability cases.
Originally from Cardiff, Hywel graduated from Liverpool John Moore’s University in 1998, where he obtained an LLB Honours Law Degree. He completed his Legal Practice Course in 2000 and qualifed as a solicitor in 2002 following his 2 year training contract.
Hywel has over 20 years experience as a personal injury solicitor and is respected for his high degree of technical knowledge and skill. He has a particular specialism in Employers Liabilty cases and a strong track record in achieving the best results for injured clients. Hywel has acted for injured clients to bring claims against all manner of Defendants; including against multi-national companies and many branches of Government.
When asked what motivates him, Hywel answered:

Hywel has put his technical know-how to use in some significant cases. Notable appeals he has run or overseen include:
(i) An appeal to the High Court to protect a claimant from having his foreign language statement struck out on technicality, and
(ii) An appeal in the County County to improve the prospect of recovery of costs for claimants in applications for pre-action disclosure of necessary documents.
