Tim Dodd is an Associate Costs Lawyer in the costs department. Tim graduated from the University of Birmingham with BA Hons in Politics before working in the legal costs industry. Tim undertook the Association of Costs Lawyers (‘ACL’) qualification, becoming a Costs Lawyer in 2019.
Tim has over twelve years’ experience in the legal costs and works predominantly in costs management / costs budgeting. He has vast experience of preparing high value costs budgets for Court including multi-million pounds group action costs budgets. Tim has a holistic understanding of the costs management process and regularly attends Court to advocate on his client’s costs budgets as well as experience of providing in house training on costs management.
When asked what is the most aspect part of his role, Tim said “I firmly believe that in order to obtain the best result for the client it is important to have a complete understanding of the case before preparing the costs budget and working hand in hand with the Solicitor running the case. No two cases are ever the same and it is important to drill down into the nuances of the case in order to prepare the best costs budget possible and obtain the best outcome for the client at the hearing.”
