Express Solicitors are supporting a hairdresser who was left looking like she had ‘been in a fight with Mike Tyson’ after she tripped in the street.
Tracey Hornby had popped out to post a letter on a break from her salon when she fell over an uneven paving stone.
She was left with facial injuries including a fractured eye socket.
Tracey reported the dangerous paving stone to her local Cheshire East Council online and went back to the street to photograph the fault.
But despite the council spraying around the paving stone with blue paint she says the fault wasn’t fixed until a few weeks later.
To try and prevent others from being injured she contacted Express Solicitors to investigate her claim.
Magdalena Smacka, a Solicitor from our Occupiers’ and Public Liability team, is working with Tracey on the case.
She said: “Tracey was just going about her daily business when she fell and injured her face.
“Councils need to do better to maintain pavements and protect pedestrians.”
Tracey claims her local area in Cheshire is full of uneven paving slabs and has called on Cheshire East Council to carry out more urgent repairs before someone is seriously injured.
Tracey added: “Luckily, I am quite fit and active.
“I dread to think what would have happened if it had been an elderly person who fell instead of me.”
